One of our more unique awning projects, this design cantilevers out from the home with no ground supports. We bolted a five-foot bronze backbone to the house; this integrated element supports the entire structure. Three 16-foot struts—crafted from reclaimed southern yellow pine—project off the backbone with stainless steel wire as support. This creative configuration creates an intriguing floating effect. The fabric’s soft “basil” hue echoes the greenery tones of the surrounding garden.
